Rumour Mill: Google & HubSpot Tie-Up?

There’s an ongoing rumour that Google’s parent company Alphabet may acquire marketing automation supplier HubSpot. It’s quite surprising news, but it might make strategic sense as a way for Google to tap into more of the first-party CRM data that is held in products like HubSpot.
This is just a rumour and some analysts are doubtful about the commercial logic. And even if a deal goes ahead, it’s likely to take many months to clear regulatory hurdles. So it could be a long time before anything changes. But certainly an intriguing possibility that would shake up the marketing technology world.
